"ED Care"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Box Hill Hospital / Infectious diseases Box Hill Hospital / Respiratory Ward

(as a service user),

I went to ED with a lung problem. I was seen swiftly and put into isolation with some concerns about a possible TB infection (it wasn't TB).

I was looked after by a young intern called Max who in my opinion couldn't have been kinder or more professional. If he didn't know something, he'd say so and then try and find answers for me.

In my experience the whole day I was pulled, pinched, prodded and measured by either Max or the nursing staff. Everyone I encountered did their best to look after me and I'm both impressed and grateful.

I now have a long road ahead to recovery but I might not have known how sick I actually was without Max and the team he works with.

Well done to everyone in ED.

Dear Legless,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience when attending the Emergency Department at Eastern Health’s Box Hill Hospital.

Reading your experience it’s clear Max and the nursing staff displayed the Eastern Health values of Patients First, Kindness, Excellence, Respect, Agility and Humility.

It will give me great pleasure to share your comments with them so they see the impact they had both on your experience plus also your recovery journey.

Take care and wishing you the best of health.

Kind regards

David
