"WACHS Positive Caesarean & Positive Birth Programs"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I want to express my gratitude for having been able to enrol in both the WACHS Positive Caesarean Program & the Positive Birth Program. Although this is my first baby, I can say without a doubt that I believe my friends and family have not been lucky enough to complete a course like this before the arrival of their babies and based on my experience I wish that all women could have this experience. These courses have really opened my eyes to the idea that it has become 'folklore' in our society to talk about birth as a painful and stressful experience. I feel so empowered and positive about birth and will now be heading into my birth experience with the tools to feel calm, regardless of how my birth plays out.

I feel extremely lucky to have had access to such a valuable and informative tool provided by the public health system. In my opinion the courses are not only informative, but are provided with a high level of professionalism and are backed by real life experiences. Based on my experience I would highly recommend to any first time mums, or mums that have perhaps had a negative birthing experience in the past.

Dear falconkz93,

Thankyou for taking the time to share your experience with careopinion. I am pleased that you found the antenatal classes to be such a wonderful resource, and I know that the strategies and tools that you have learnt will be invaluable during your birthing and parenting journey.

To hear that they have empowered you in your own pregnancy and pending birth, is truly rewarding. The aim of these classes is to provide evidence based information and to ensure you can make choices in your own healthcare. I will pass on your kind words to the facilitator, she is a truly professional midwife and will be grateful for your positive feedback.

I wish you well with your journey ahead, and thankyou again for taking the time to provide feedback.

Katrina Jones,

Clinical Midwifery Manager
