"Water birth at Bunbury Regional Hospital"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was under the care of the Midwifery Group Program at the Bunbury Regional Hospital. I was classified as high risk so I couldn’t have a home birth, unfortunately.

However thanks to the help of my amazing midwife Elisha, I managed to get the birth I wanted. I wished for an intervention-free water birth and it’s exactly what I got! Based on my experience, I highly recommend the MGP for anyone who would like to join. The team of midwives you meet really are there to help you along the way, there’s a real continuity of care which is nice. And they also come to your house after birth for 4 weeks.

Dear couragesj94,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback via Care Opinion. I am so pleased that we were able to support you to achieve the birth you wanted. The benefits of a continuity of care model are well documented in research, as demonstrated by your positive outcome.

I have passed your feedback onto Elisha, and I am sure she will be humbled by your kind words. As you say, she truly is an amazing midwife and such a positive asset to the team

I hope you are settling into the routine (if there is such a thing) of having a newborn at home, and I wish you well in the future ahead.

Yours Sincerely,

Katrina Jones

Clinical Midwifery Manager
