About: Joondalup Health Campus

(as a service user),

I had an appointment at Joondalup Health Campus recently, so I arrived 20 minutes before the appointment time and found all entries to their grounds were blocked with traffic. I arrived for my appointment another 20 minutes after that when I was told that I was too late! That was not so bad for me but how would an emergency vehicle access the emergency department through that traffic jam? In my opinion, the problem is that parking is accessed through the same entry as all other parts of the hospital. I believe a separate entry for parking would free up all other services but there appears to be no Joondalup Health Campus consumer liaison panel.

Good morning lionpx65,

Thank you for raising your points regarding parking at Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) and we are sorry that you were unable to attend your appointment. JHC recognizes that parking can be frustrating when visiting and has made it a priority of the redevelopment. There will be a new multi-storey car park at the front of the public hospital which will provide a significant increase in the number of parking bays on site. Our design will also address separating parking traffic from traffic that needs to access the Emergency Department and public hospital reception.

With regards to ambulances currently entering the Campus, we have a Priority One process which we action to ensure that ambulances and emergency vehicles' access is not hindered.
