My parent has been admitted to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital twice in the past 12 months with significant neurological issues. Unfortunately, this has resulted in delirium in an otherwise very well adult in their early 70s.
They have a severe hearing impairment. As they recovered from their delirium, I believe re-orientation via the use of a TV to re-establish their usual routine would have been of benefit, however I was disappointed to find that despite hearing impairment being such a common condition, there was no capacity to access appropriate subtitled services.
"Inadequate accessibility - no TV subtitles"
