"Thank you to the nurses and doctors"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Outpatient Department (Eyes & General)

(as the patient),

I had an appointment (glaucoma clinic) early in the morning recently, and I have to say, had such wonderful ongoing care from start to finish. The specialist was not happy with the results of my eye so they called the doctor and advised me to come back in the afternoon. I went back and he did all the examinations. He still wasn’t happy with results.

He then got a nurse to take me to the ED, a very young registrar, where they did blood tests and CT scan – but the doctor was still not convinced. As a result, it turns out there is a blockage in the brain that is affecting my eye.

But overall, the staff I dealt with were absolutely fabulous, from the nurses to the doctors. I can’t explain how good they were towards me and the wonderful treatment I experienced. If it wasn’t for each and every one of them, I wouldn’t have gotten this diagnosis.

Dear geminidj64,

Thank you for sharing your story through Care Opinion and acknowledging the terrific care and treatment you received by our doctors and nurses, both in the Glaucoma Clinic and the Emergency Department. It is heart-warming to hear that a clear reason for your eye issue was found and I wish you well for your ongoing treatment. I will ensure the staff in the clinic and emergency departments receive your feedback.

Kind regards

Jon
