"Service at Accident & Emergency in Geraldton Hospital"

My husband felt unwell at home. I tried to take his blood pressure which was so low it didn't read. Meanwhile, I rang the Geraldton hospital number and opted to talk to Health direct.

I finally got a very low BP reading with a pulse rate 3 times higher than BP.
Health direct reassured and spoke to my husband saying to go directly to A & E.
 
Arriving at Geraldton Hospital we felt deflated as waiting room packed full.
My Husband was seen in less than 15 minutes and taken through to a cubicle while I completed paperwork.

A & E staff we encountered, especially Emily, were incredible. The Doctor and nurses explained every step from the worst-case scenario to the best outcome. 9 hours later we left with a copy of the ECGs and referral to a cardiologist.

We had an appointment already booked with our GP for the next day.
Also the next morning I rang the cardiologist's rooms and my husband was offered a telephone consult the same morning. Since then I have been successful booking all appointments required for my husband from echo doppler to angiogram.

In my opinion, Geraldton Hospital and related specialist serve our region extremely well.
