(as a service user),

After a fall in the afternoon, I presented at around 8.30pm with a very sore wrist. I was seen by the reception nurse, triage nurse, 3 radiographers and a doctor. I was offered pain killers. Each person who attended to me was caring, professional and thorough. I cannot commend them highly enough. I left around 3am with my wrist in a cast. Despite being in the middle of the night, I felt no one was impatient or ill-tempered.

We are sorry to hear about your recent fall and injury and hope you are now recovering and in better health. It is very frightening to fall and injure yourself and we are pleased that your ED visit was one in which you felt well cared for by our staff. It is reassuring to read that the ED staff were considerate of your pain and that you received timely treatment for your broken wrist.

Thanks Barbara,

Please convey my gratitude to those particular individuals. I subsequently had a screw inserted into the scaphoid a few days later and the care I received at outpatient, peri & post-op was equally professional and thorough. My conclusion is there is many many good staff at POW with good leadership.
