"Poor Care"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My sibling admitted from severe self-harm, was told will be staying in the hospital until a bed is available in the mental health unit. Now they're sending my sibling home with no care at home to look after them. Even though all the family is vouching including my sibling, stating they are not right mind to go home. I believe they're not listening and still discharging at the time of writing this story,

Dear leatherks53,

I am very sorry to read of your sibling’s struggle with their mental health – I know that this would be an extremely stressful and upsetting time for you and your family.

We do want to assist you and your sibling any way we can – however please contact our Patient and Family Liaison Service (PFLS) on 6152 4013 so that we are able to identify your sibling and provide support. We will also need consent from your sibling to liaise with you regarding their medical treatment and care.

We look forward to hearing from you / your sibling soon.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty
