(as a service user),

I am very proud of the wonderful Doctor & nurses that took care of my son one afternoon/evening recently.

To Doctor Jeremy & Nurse Jen (Jennifer) and two other, I felt, great nurses (who removed the blood stent & who brought me a sandwich & watched my son briefly), thank you.

My son came in with abdominal pain, and despite, I believe, it obviously not being so serious, the Dr & nurse treated me respectfully. I felt they were kind & professional & accommodating. I was quite embarrassed to say the least that it ended up being toddler-constipation & apologise for taking up a bed! I appreciate that there was no condescension & pleasant manner all round.

Dear indigoke95,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience in Fiona Stanley Hospital’s (FSH) Emergency Department (ED). Please don’t apologise for “taking up a bed”. Parenting and caring for little ones can be stressful, especially when they become unwell. You should not be embarrassed about seeking care for your small child.

I have passed on your kind compliments to Jeremy, Jen and the other nurses involved in your son’s care, with my personal gratitude added. I am very proud of all of the staff who work here at FSH, and it is lovely to know that members of the public including yourself feel the same way.

I hope you and your little one have continued good health.
