"The care after my operation"

About: Kununurra Hospital / General Ward

(as the patient),

Hey, I recently had an operation and I felt the aftercare was horrible! I remember my nurse waking me up saying I need to eat and drink something which is normal. I keep falling asleep and they were always coming in waking me up to eat and drink to the point they were like ********* u need to wake up now and eat, I told u to stop falling asleep (I'm still groggy from my op and my anxiety medication pre-op ).

The nurse then said u can call your family and tell them to pick u up in half an hour. I text my partner and said babe u can pick me up at 4.30 but my partner said to me babe it's past 4.30 I said oh sorry 5.30!

I do not remember this text until I looked at my phone. I also don't remember going home, how I got home, if my kids come to pick me up and what car I went in. Some things I remember, some I don't.

I also asked the nurse for discharge papers, pain meds, bandaids and a paper on how to look after my stitches. The nurse said we don't do that or have any of that stuff and if u want that, go chemist or contact your gp about op and aftercare! I was horrified and still question things today.
