About: Prince of Wales Hospital / ASB 4N - Haematology and Oncology Ward

(as a relative),

My elderly mother was admitted to POW with Non-hodgkin's lymphoma and other serious health issues several weeks ago. She was very unwell and could not walk and had limited use of her arms.

The staff on level 10 West in the Haematology ward have been nothing but amazing. Their professionalism, selfless assistance, compassion and friendliness has made mum’s stay so much more pleasant. Everyone from the services staff, health care staff, specialists and administration we encountered were wonderful. We really felt that they were there for Mum and had her health and well being at the forefront of their attention.

She is now being moved to a nursing home for respite care. She will miss all of your smiling faces. 

A huge thank you to all of you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your mother’s experience in our Haematology Unit here at Prince of Wales Hospital. I am sorry to hear how unwell she was when she was admitted.

I am very pleased to hear that during your stay you found the staff to be professional, compassionate and friendly, ensuring you and your mother had a positive journey throughout a time which can be very daunting.

Our PB10W team strive to provide high standards of care on a daily basis. I will ensure that your kind words of gratitude are passed on to the staff and I hope your mum is doing well post her diagnosis.
