(as a service user),

I called the Karratha Health Campus and I was connected to the COVID team. I requested an appointment for myself and my partner as directed by our GP as we are wanting the pfizer vaccine.

I was told they are booked until the end of August (which we knew), to which I asked to be booked in September and was given an, I felt, flat no! No offer of a wait list, nothing 😡. How do we get our pfizer jab if our only COVID clinic that stocks the pfizer, it seems, won’t offer or put us on a list? Very disappointed in the, I felt, lack of assistance by this COVID team member. Do I now call everyday and hassle?

Dear Brindabella,

I am sorry to hear about your experience when trying to access the Pfizer vaccine at the Karratha Health Campus.

The clinic bookings are opened on Vaccinate WA in 4-week blocks to allow us to better manage the vaccine distribution and allocations at the back end of the vaccination program.

There will be more Pfizer vaccination clinics open for September and we would be happy to contact you when this occurs to ensure you are able to find a suitable date and time for yourself and your partner.

I have already had a conversation with the vaccination admin team at Karratha, following your post, to look into how we better manage situations like yours in the future. We do have a waitlist system in place to assist clients such as yourselves unable to book in. Unfortunately, it seems like this option was not offered to you, for which I sincerely apologise.

Please contact me so that I can obtain your contact details to enable us to assist you with your vaccination booking.

Alternatively please call the Karratha vaccination clinic again today and we can definitely put you on a waitlist, as long as you and your partner qualify for the Pfizer vaccine.
