"My son’s excellent care in Geraldton ED"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My 2-year-old had cellulitis to his eye. The agency nurse triaged him appropriately, I felt, for a child and I was seen within this time, her assessment and care was excellent.

I believe Mitch, the doctor, was very thorough in his assessment. He had read my son's file beforehand, listened to my concerns, was so great with talking to my child and acknowledged my concerns and we discussed a plan together and with follow up with GP or returning to ED if I was concerned. I felt listened to and his care, and his assessment was thorough and detailed. He was very knowledgeable and most importantly kind. What a great doctor. Thank you Mitch!

Dear hydrusrp97,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about you and your child’s experience at Geraldton Hospital Emergency Department. Feedback such as this is appreciated as it recognises the efforts of our dedicated staff.

It will be my pleasure to pass your compliment on to the triage staff and Dr Mitch. I am sure they will be pleased to know that their care was kind and reassuring and you felt that they worked with you to provide an excellent treatment plan that met your child’s needs. It is clear that they demonstrated WACHS values of compassion, quality and community.

I trust your 2-year-old is recovering well and wish you all the very best.

Kind regards

Derek Fraser
