Went to a meeting at Upper Coomera Headspace recently. I arrived to see nobody in the medium size room was wearing masks, quite a number of people in there. So I left without attending as I found it really irresponsible that as a health service, I believe they couldn’t follow safety rules around Covid. In my opinion, it doesn’t bode well for how seriously they take providing care.

Thank you for telling us about your experience of attending a meeting at Upper Coomera headspace recently. I am concerned and sorry to hear that you found the experience unsafe and needed to leave.

Headspace practice is to diligently follow all QLD Government guidelines, including the wearing of masks at all times where social distancing is not possible in order to provide a safe environment to all clients, staff and visitors to the Upper Coomera office. We are always looking to improve our delivery of services and the safety of people coming to our service.

We are following up on your comments and seeking to identify the meeting you are referring to. To our knowledge, it would have been an external stakeholder meeting. We will ensure we are more diligent in outlining to all external stakeholders the conditions for conducting or attending meetings in our offices to ensure safe practices are fully followed.

If you have any further details you would like to share with us so we can make further improvements, please contact the organiser of the stakeholder meeting you were attending. It would be appreciated.
