"Hospital Maternity Ward"

About: Broome Health Campus / Maternity/Midwifery

(as the patient),

This isn't to reflect negatively on any of the staff they all do an amazing job. The one thing I didn't like is the lack of space. In my experience, after the birth of your baby, you don't get a room to yourself, I believe there is only one single room.

The town is growing and they also take in all the ladies from the nearby communities too, so that they can give birth. In my opinion, the space is just not adequate for the amount of women giving birth. I especially believe that women shouldn't have to share a bathroom after giving birth, you are still losing a lot of blood and I think it's really unhygienic. There is also only two birthing suites which again I believe isn't adequate for the amount of ladies.

Dear arieshd49,

This is an aspect we have taken on and are addressing now. Our team, together with the staff of the maternity ward are taking onboard consumer feedback such as yours, and have now redesigned improvements in the ward.

Feedback such as yours helps us to develop improvements in the right areas, thank you for taking the time on giving us such valuable feedback.

We expect the birthing suite improvements to be completed by early 2022.

Yours sincerely

James
