(as a service user),

In my experience, the withdrawal unit is first class - compassionate, competent staff and a therapeutic environment.

In my opinion, the ongoing rehab service is appalling. I felt bullied, gaslighted and terrorized while I was there - by another client - and it seemed to be completely ignored by staff. As I understand it, the staff are trained to work with clients with intellectual disabilities and not with addiction - which I believe is a mental health issue unto itself. I was traumatized by my time at Wattle Grove.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay at Wyla Withdrawal Unit, it is so good to hear that you found the services 'first class'!

I am sorry that your experience in rehab was not a positive experience for you. You should not have felt victimised by other residents and I’m sorry that staff did not notice or respond to that situation.

I encourage you to contact the Team Leader at Wyla to discuss your situation further so we can maybe identify some improvements that we can make to ensure residents in our service feel safe and supported. Lives Lived Well 1300 727 957.
