"My experience of Emergency Dept at Concord Repatriation Hospital"

About: Concord Repatriation General Hospital / Emergency

(as a carer),

My friend of 65 years was admitted to Concord Repatriation Hospital last month by Ambulance. She deteriorated fast. Dr Ravinda phoned me 3 times about her life and we agreed that he would make her comfortable and obtain permission for me to sit with her. He and his team showed untold expertise and kindness to her.  She did not recognise me but she was very agitated. Around 1 am she seemed to settle down after an injection.   She passed away just after 4 am and I thought she passed very peacefully and the pain she had suffered all her life was gone.

The team kept watching her and they got me a very comfortable chair to sit in.  Michelle, from Camden, got me a cup of tea and I chose to stay with her for a while.   When it was time to leave, Michelle called for a cab and carried her bag out to the car for me.

Dr Ravinda and his team showed me nothing but kindness, caring and empathy and made me feel that my dear friend, who was part of our family, was a part of the Concord Emergency family as well. I have all good thoughts of Concord Repatriation Hospital Emergency Department and that is more than I can say of the staff at other hospitals I have had experiences at.
