"Blown away by the support and care from staff"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Community Midwifery Program King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

My firstborn was a somewhat traumatic birth experience for both my husband and I, so for my second I researched like crazy and came across studies claiming the benefits of midwifery-led care. We applied for the Community Midwifery Program and based on our experience, it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

I have had the same wonderful primary midwife Jayne for 3 pregnancies/labours now and the care is just incredible. The time and heart these lovely ladies put into their work is so felt and so appreciated! The support I've received from CMP North's team for each child has blown my husband and I away, whether it's been through advocating for our birth plan (Sue), supporting us when plans have had to change (Amanda), right through to the actual births (Jayne). I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering a homebirth or domino birth at the birth centre.

It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know the midwives there over the years especially Jayne and I'm so grateful for the role she's played in our family's life.

The midwives at MFAU were lovely as well. As my baby was 13 days past her due date, I had additional monitoring this time and the ladies there were so understanding and helpful, offering advice and happy to meet halfway when it came to planning an induction that I managed to avoid by a day.

Dear maycn79,

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It is heartening to read that you received such a high standard of care and support from the Community Midwifery Program (CMP) staff.

I am pleased to hear your experience with CMP North has been a positive one and that you felt well supported and informed about your care for your last 3 pregnancies. Our staff strive to provide our patients and their families with the support to achieve positive outcomes during their pregnancy journey, particularly when birthing plans may change.

Furthermore, I am very happy to hear that you had a positive experience with the Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit (MFAU). Our staff are committed to this service and this is a true testament of the collaborative approach with our patients to achieve such positive results.

Thank you for sharing your story and we will be sure to send your appreciative comments to all the staff involved, with special thanks to Jayne.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
