About: Patient Assisted Travel Scheme - WACHS Kimberley

(as the patient),

Hi, I am forever grateful that we in the country can access the Patients Travel Assistance Scheme, but it is very frustrating and stressful when you are less than a week from needing to travel for specialist surgery and you still have not been given any information on the status of your claim for assistance.   How are we supposed to manage to book a reasonable priced matching flight for a support person to travel with us on the flight and book suitable accommodation if we are only being provided the travel arrangement details days before we travel?

Good morning Where to now,

Thank you for reaching out via Care Opinion. I am sorry to hear that accessing the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) has been frustrating for you.

It sounds as though you still don’t have the details of your PATS claim and I would like to get this resolved for you.

My name is Bec Smith and I am the Regional Director. Please feel free to call me on 0475 974 893 or email me at bec.smith@health.wa.gov.au so that I can get your details and follow up on where your PATS claim is up to.

Kind regards,

Bec
