About: Alcohol and Drug Counselling - Beenleigh (Lives Lived Well)

(as a service user),

A few days ago, I completed a counselling program with Georgia. I had never really gotten help for my drinking or gambling before. I started with the group program but changed to counselling sessions as this felt better for me. I had been drinking heavily for months and spending almost everything on the pokies. I had a 4 year jail sentence hanging over my head and didn't know how to cope.

I have managed to cut my drinking back heaps and don't write myself off anymore. I haven't played the pokies for a few months and feel relieved. I have received immediate parole at court and feel like I have a future again. I'm glad I reached out and that the help was there.

Based on my experience, Georgia's a legend. Thanks for everything.

Thank you for telling us about your experience in attending Lives Lived Well's Day Program and then linking with counselling sessions in the Gambling Intervention program that operates within Lives Lived Well for people experiencing both substance use and gambling impacts.

It is great to know you have reduced your drinking and have been able to manage your gambling. Thanks for your recognition of Georgia and the support you have been able to receive from her and others at Lives Lived Well. It must be a big relief to feel you have a future again.
