"Staff were really good"

About: Armadale Hospital / Canning Medical Ward Armadale Hospital / Emergency Department Armadale Hospital / Medical Admissions Unit

(as the patient),

Went for scans and told had a bilateral PE, drove myself to emergency. Bit worried. Nearly had crash on way, cut someone off lol.

Couldn't get a park. Had to leave car on vacant block.

Female Emergency Dr was all smiles, said I had nice veins when putting thing in hand for bloods.

Got put on the ward. Told a couple of days later 'best patient' cos didn't complain. Was just glad to be alive.

Was right next to the door, never dark, always noise from passage 24/7. Apparently people leave after being put there. 1st nurse smiled and said she was my 'call girl' haha. Anyway got shifted to room on my own after that.

I was in MAU for like 2 days then Canning Ward. Staff were really good.

Dear 123457,

Thank you for writing to us describing your positive experience with our staff at Armadale Health Service (AHS) during your recent admission.

I am sorry, however, to hear that you experienced difficulty with locating a suitable parking space. As part of our service planning, I am pleased to advise that we have commenced updating our onsite signage to enable visitors to locate our large overflow parking area.

We are very fortunate at AHS to have such compassionate and dedicated staff, and it was great to hear that this was reflected in your experience with us.

Thank you again for providing your feedback and I hope you are now recovering well.

Kind regards,

Mary Ferrier

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your reply. I was told later that there was a car park 'at the back' somewhere, albeit with no clear signage. I also was told that this car park was usually also full.

I was in Perth from the country on my own and had driven myself to Emergency prior to being admitted. Initially, staff told me security could help me with my car, but turns out they wouldn't move it as it was not on hospital grounds.

Eventually, a patient who was next to me and had heard me worrying about the car and asking people for help went and got it for me and brought my keys back. I was very lucky. Around a day later, I went to where he said it was, and it was there.
