"Care for young daughter"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I rushed my young daughter to Fiona Stanley after she started coughing and vomiting up blood. She had had surgery the previous week at another hospital which did not cater to emergencies for children.

In my experience, from arriving at the emergency department, to going to surgery to being on the ward, the staff, doctors and nurses were exceptional.

They explained everything to me in a way that I understood and did not feel like an idiot. They made my daughter feel comfortable and I felt were very kind and friendly while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Everything was dealt with so much ease and no stress and my daughter is now feeling much better. I would like to commend all the staff at Fiona Stanley. I think public hospitals seemingly get a bit of a bad rap but I have found Fiona Stanley hospital staff to be brilliant.

Thank you.

Dear deltart66,

What you experienced as a parent sounds like it would have been extremely stressful and upsetting – I am ever so glad to hear that your daughter is feeling much better now.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience and for the praise you have provided our ED, surgical and ward staff with. Your description of the care your daughter received is exactly the type of care we strive to consistently provide.

Please be assured I have passed your compliments on to the ED team and the Surgical Specialties and Women, Children and Newborn Service Directors to share with their staff – I’m sure they will be very happy to read of your experience and grateful that you took a moment to share your thanks.

Warm regards,

Neil Doverty
