I was labouring at King Edwards for two days, I was tired and feeling like any minute a doctor was going to come in and push for a Caesarean. Then David arrived, the best person, I felt, to arrive to be “on my team” at that given time.
I was exhausted and feeling like I was going to have pressure put on me, instead, he sat at my level, spoke with me, not at me and made me cry happy tears of knowing we had a confident very experienced OB on our side. He continued to work with us until our baby was born and even came to see me the next day in the maternity ward. In my opinion, he is so personable, kind and capable.
I honestly felt like we were blessed with him working on that day on that shift and being sent to my room to help me. I felt the human connection, which I believe isn’t something many of us can say anymore. He took the time to get to know my situation, hear me and respond in a way that ensured me that he understood, as best he could, where I was coming from. Even when things didn’t go the way I wanted, he continued to provide me with dignity, listen to my husband and my wishes and communicate with us the entire way with respect and reassurance.
"The best person to be on my team"
