"Positive birthing experience with MGP5"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I joined MGP5 after my GP referral in my second trimester. My experience with MGP5 was a positive one and I felt assured that I was well taken care of.

It was a blessing to have continuity of care and to be able to see the same medical professional each visit at KEMH. There were a few times during my pregnancy where I had some concerns however Jess and Maddie were only a phone call away and were available 24/7. My patient records were kept up to date and well detailed, and I felt it was seamless when I was referred to clinic, ultrasound and CTG.

Jess was there for my birth which ended up being an emergency caesarean which was scary and unexpected but I felt she was fantastic and really looked after us. Both Jess and Maddie came to visit us at home and called to check in a few times after we were discharged from the hospital to answer questions, weigh our baby and educate us. I felt we were very well looked after and felt more confident after the home visits.

Thank you Jess and Maddie for everything!

Dear columbaje57,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for providing feedback via Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear that the birth of your baby did not go according to plan, which undoubtedly would have been stressful. It is heartwarming to hear that you were put at ease and felt supported and well looked after by your midwife.

We are incredibly proud of our Midwifery Group Practice Team 5 (MGP5) team and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes during the pregnancy and birthing journey. It is lovely to hear that you received the care and continuity you needed to support you through your pregnancy, the birth of your baby and also received the same level of support during your recovery at home.

We will be sure to send your appreciative comments to Jess and Maddie. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
