I had an attack of tachycardia in spite of taking my medication. My pulse was so fast I could not count it, I felt dizzy and lightheaded as well as scared. I could feel my heart pounding hard and fast in my chest, and had air hunger. I went by ambulance to PHC. Even though my heart rate and blood pressure were still elevated, I was told I could go home if my blood test was normal. I did not receive any information on why it was happening or reassurance, I didn't even get a cup of water. I felt like an inconvenience.
I said I was too scared to go home as I lived alone so was allowed to stay overnight. Early in the morning, a nurse told me I could go home even though my heart rate went up again when I went to the bathroom. In my opinion, the nurse who, as I perceive it, kicked me out 15 minutes later was abrupt and rude.
I asked for discharge advice if my condition got worse but did not get any information. I managed to see my GP as my blood pressure was high, my heart rate was 138 and missing beats on an ECG. Fortunately, my GP was reassuring and altered my medication which made a difference.
