I was lucky enough to be part of Broome's MGP (Midwifery Group Practice) program throughout my first pregnancy and saw Tegan from about 18- 20 weeks or so. I felt that the entire program and support given, for me to have an informed and empowered birth at Broome Hospital was amazing, as well as the check ups, scans and home visits leading up to the birth of my daughter.
All of the midwives we saw across the labour stage were respectful of our birthing preferences, so supportive and were a wealth of information. While my birthing journey did not go how I had hoped, I had opportunity to debrief and discuss the interventions made, and felt the birth trauma I was experiencing was validated and listened to.
The after care by these incredible women included home visits, calls and I was even seen after being discharged after concerns with healing. I would 100% recommend the Broome MGP program to every expecting mother, and can't rate them highly enough. My only wish is that the care, knowledge and advice they offer continued for even longer!
