"Counselling support"

About: Hilda's House

(as the patient),

In June 2017, I lost my partner in a single vehicle car accident. I moved from interstate to Qld to be with family. In doing that I decided to seek help and support for my grief and loss. I discovered a local place called Hilda's House that offered free grief and loss counselling. I jumped at the opportunity.

While it was hard talking about my partner with the counsellor I also found it very healing. I attended for about 9 months but you're able to attend for as long as you need. I got so much out of the counselling. I learned that grief can come and go in waves, and sometimes it’s more intense than others but those moments will pass. I gained strength and felt empowered through their service.
