I fell and was badly injured at home lying face down with no feeling in my limbs. I was frightened and bleeding from my head. From when the ambulance arrived (7 minutes so it felt pretty fast) and stabilised my neck through ED to the trauma unit I felt safe, cared for and, although seemingly really busy in ED, the most important person there.
I am in my 60s have been a RN for over 40 years and, whilst not currently practising, still work in health. Words cannot express my gratitude to all with whom I came into contact in each area including radiology and theatre. In my opinion, your volunteers are wonderful. A lady came to say g'day and fixed my phone because up until then only saw the ceiling for 4 days, plus all those beautiful kind faces.
Thank you so much, by the way, the feeling returned to my limbs after 10 minutes but I have a brace on for a while.
