About a year ago I was drinking to unconsciousness at every opportunity I got despite having a full time job.

One night I drank myself in to hospital with alcohol poisoning, my liver was so big I could feel it half way down my abdomen. I was in constant pain and a mental wreck. Added to this I was being bullied out of my job. I was a mess.

When I checked out of hospital I went to Lives Lived Well in Cairns and asked for help. Thanks to the guidance, support, patience and good will of a very special counsellor I saw, I am now completely and happily sober, following a new and exciting career path and my health and outlook on life is getting better day by day. I have been given mental tools to help me cope with the world at large and the courage to enact my own choices again.

I believe, if you think you can’t cope and you might need help, then you probably do. Lives Lived Well has changed my life and I cannot recommend them highly enough if you are in a tough spot.

Hello Efilnikufesin,

Thank you for your post about your experiences when attending Lives Lived Well's office in Cairns and the circumstances of your life that led you there. That is one courageous step to take.

It is great to hear that your life is now filled with a very different reality and you are growing in many different ways.

Thank you for the acknowledgement of the support you received from Lives Lived Well staff and the way one, in particular, was able to support you through the space you were in and pass on the tools to help you learn how to do it for yourself.

Finally, thank you for recommending Lives Lived Well Cairns to others. It is appreciated.
