"Child birth - midwifery group practice & NICU"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Community Midwifery Program King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I recently had my first child at KEMH. I received excellent prenatal care through MGP5. Seeing the same midwife for my prenatal appointments allowed me to build trust and create a bond with my midwife. I felt this made the birthing experience a lot more relaxed and comfortable. I would highly recommend MGP for any women considering giving birth at KEMH.

My baby spent 5 night in hospital in the nursery. I felt every nurse that cared for my baby was excellent. The transition from hospital to home was made so much easier due to all the advice I received from the nurses - everything from feeding, bathing to nappy changes. I feel I would have been completely overwhelmed without them.

Thank you KEMH for such great care.

Dear zuluxk59,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience with the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS).

It is great to hear that you had such wonderful support from our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP 5) model of care. I am extremely proud of our staff and the level of care that they provide to our patients. Staff at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) understand how important it is to our patients to have a friendly, familiar face during what can be a very intimidating experience. I am sorry to hear that your baby had to spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), but I am glad that you received excellent care. It is great to hear that you received the same level of support during your recovery at home.

Thank you again for the great feedback. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
