"Recovery from drugs"

I've been seeing a great counsellor in Stanthorpe and I am compelled to write in praise of the services provided by Lives Lived Well in this area.

I have been abstinent from all drugs for around nine months now following serious dependence on meth, opioids etc etc, and I can say with certainty that without the regular counselling I have received I would have likely relapsed by now. I have felt genuine care and empathy from my counsellor and have been coached in practical skills to not only avoid drugs but on how to enjoy life without them. 

My situation was hopeless, and I had all but resigned myself to a life of drug dependence when I was fortunate enough to be directed towards Lives Lived Well. I was sceptical at first believing I was beyond repair, though within a few sessions I was regaining the self worth needed to overcome my addiction.

I have over many years dealt with psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors and counsellors in efforts to find peace in sobriety; even spending three years on the suboxone program following heroin addiction. Through all of this my experience with lives lived well has afforded me the longest period of sobriety in my adult life and I've even enjoyed some of it!

I look forward to my appointments. Based on my experience, there is never any judgement, pressure or stigma attached and oftentimes drugs are hardly discussed. I believe this speaks to a holistic, multilevel and personal care that in my experience is hard to come by.
