"Unprofessional treatment"

About: Dental Services (Bass Coast Health)

I’m a social worker and recently, I took the patient to their pre-arranged dental appointment at Wonthaggi hospital dental service. They had previously gotten scans and other Xrays done with a private service, but the procedure was booked for the day we went in, through the public hospital.

However, when the patient attended the appointment, they were told that there was no time to do the filling which was pre-arranged, and was advised as I recalled, to chew some chewing gum and just place that in the hole.

The patient was basically turned away by this dentist and as a result, they are now very emotional and still in a lot of pain. Also keeping in mind that they now have to arrange for someone to take them in again for this appointment seeing that the dentist turned them away for their pre-arranged procedure. The whole treatment and experience was very unprofessional and the patient has requested that I complain about this on their behalf, given the amount of pain and emotional state they are now in.
