"Respiratory problem"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Acute Medical Unit Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department Royal Perth Hospital / Respiratory Medicine & Ward 9C

(as the patient),

After feeling short of and having trouble catching breath I called an ambulance who whisked me to RPH.

On admission, the staff were very attentive and followed all protocols with regard to COVID and respiratory symptoms. On admission, I was sent to AMU before transferring to Ward 9C. At all times the staff were attentive and treated me with respect. After 6 days I was deemed fit enough to be discharged and delivered to the transfer station where it took just under 3 hours to be discharged (the only glitch in the system).

Dear Breathe,

Thank you for your lovely feedback! It was very pleasing to hear that our staff were always attentive and treated you with respect. I will make sure that your kind words are passed on to the AMU and Respiratory team on 9C.

Due to the number of staff members involved in patient care, the discharge process sometimes takes longer than we would like. We are working on a way to speed up the process and thank you for your patience.

Thank you again for taking the time to write to us. Stories like yours continue to inspire us all at the Royal Perth Bentley Group.

Kind regards,

Dr Lesley Bennett
