I am an interstate entry (returning WA resident) and required to take a covid test by law on the 12th day of my quarantine. The clinipath pathology centres are not open on my 12th day (Sunday) so I was required to attend the Busselton hospital for the test.
I attempted to book the test 9 days prior to the requirement. The person I spoke to was helpful and friendly and booked me in.
Unfortunately, I received a call back from someone different (who I felt was very rude) stating that I couldn't book that early and that I would be contacted to re-book on a specific date towards the end of the week.
I was not contacted, so I made contact the day after the specified date and was dealt with by what I believe was a very flustered, unhappy and rude individual who put me on hold 9 times in the 18-minute call. In any case, they booked me in for the covid test as required.
On the day I wrote this story, I attended and underwent covid testing.
I have just been contacted by Busselton hospital to advise that apparently because the clinician failed to put a sticker on my sample, my test is invalid. The person who I spoke to, I believe is the person I spoke to previously given their rude, dismissive, speaking over the top of me and unapologetic attitude.
This error by Busselton Hospital will potentially extend the amount of time I must quarantine for.
I am unsure if this person is an AIN, EN or RN but I felt their attitude, and the performance of the clinician who took the sample, reflects poorly in my opinion, on all clinicians at this hospital.
