"Wonderful radiology experience"

About: Swan Hill District Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

I had my first X-ray in a while today at Swan Hill District Health. I was pleased to get my appointment so quickly, as I dropped of my referral at the front of the hospital a few days ago. However, when I called to book in my appointment the phone rang out twice or three times, so I wish that was a little more prompt.

Both the staff I saw at the front of the hospital were lovely, and I commend them for being so thorough in their questioning regarding COVID, helping to keep everyone safe. The reception staff I encountered in radiology were efficient and friendly, and I was seen right away.

Hannah did a great job taking my X-ray and was very professional. Overall, I felt it was a wonderful experience, and once the phones are answered I feel everyone is easy to deal with and very helpful. Hopefully I will not have to return too quickly, but if I do, I have no qualms!

Thankyou for providing your positive feedback on your overall experience with the SHDH Radiology service and our front reception and radiology team when booking and getting your X-ray.

I will ensure that Hannah and the Radiology and front Reception teams are made aware of your complimentary feedback of their care.

I note in your feedback your challenges with the telephone service with the phone ringing out. We have also had other people comment on this matter recently and it is due to our increasing demand for this service that this is occurring. We are currently working to find a solution to this as a matter of priority.

I’m happy to hear your overall experience with radiology was wonderful and I appreciate that it is difficult to get reach us on the phone at the moment, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience this caused you. If you ever need any future appointments with us please email your referral to radiology@shdh.org.au and we can call you back. In the meantime, we are exploring improvement opportunities not limited to automated systems for bookings to improve the patient experience.

We are fortunate that our staff are thorough in order to keep our patients and staff safe. I will share this feedback with the screening staff and radiology admin staff as well as Hannah.
