"Daughter's hand well cared for on Paediatric ward"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Bunbury Paediatric Ward Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

In June this year my daughter had an infection in her tendon which was efficiently and kindly dealt with from first presentation at the local GP, then presentation at Margaret River Hospital with Dr Nat then onwards to Bunbury Hospital ED department and admission to Bunbury Paediatric ward. It has taken me this long to get around to thank everyone involved! The staff we saw were all extremely kind, thorough and professional. I believe they were all busy but made time to make my daughter feel at ease and comfortable at every step of the way. Happily she was discharged after a couple of days after receiving IV antibiotics.

The staff we can remember and would like to personally thank are Mary, the student nurse in ED, the tea round ladies who went above and beyond to feed and sustain me as well as my daughter, with a giggle along the way, also Clinical Nurses Jo and Tanya, both excellent professionals, Dr Patrick and Elli and Minke. The staff had a huge workload but were always friendly, kind and eager to help. Thanks to everyone.

Dear Roo,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback in regards to your daughter's care at Bunbury Regional Hospital in June 2021.

It is reassuring to hear such consistent care was provided to you both throughout her entire journey from ED to Paediatric ward and then safely discharged home.

The Paediatric nursing staff work hard to achieve positive outcomes for their paediatric patients, providing professional clinical care whilst ensuring the patients and their caregivers feel comfortable and safe.

I am delighted that your daughter is recovered and her overall treatment was positive.

Best wishes,

Tania Murphy

Paediatric Ward

Acting Clinical Nurse Manager
