"Wife's miracle recovery through exceptional expertise and care"

A few months ago, my wife suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to the emergency department and then to ICU where she spent a considerable amount of time undergoing many surgical procedures. For a while, it was uncertain if she would survive.

I feel that it was only through the unbelievable medical skills of all departments who cared for her, and the fantastic nurses and all other staff in ICU and ward 9a, that she pulled through.

There is a very long road ahead but she is alive and getting better each day.

To all the medical teams, trauma, orthopedics, plastics, renal, pain management, nutrition, physio, mental health, there is not much I can say except my sincerest thank you.

I found that the nurses in ICU and Ward 9a are in a league of their own. I believe they are just fabulous and it was a sad day when my wife left the ward to go to rehab. Sad in the sense that we will miss all the wonderful nurses who looked after my wife- absolutely faultless and so friendly and caring.

This was all happening whilst we were in lockdown. I recall that the hospital handled everything superbly in terms of allowing visits, checking on covid tests and vaccinations etc. which made it feel very safe to visit.

It seemed to me that the hospital is kept in a very clean state and the facilities are excellent.

Both my wife and I have had procedures done in the private hospital, which we found excellent, however I was pleasantly surprised at how brilliant we found the public hospital is too.

From experience, the hospital is hard to fault and I believe we are blessed to have such an excellent public health system and a hospital that is so exceptional.

In closing, once again I would like to thank everyone at RNSH who cared for my wife and always treated me with the utmost respect and care.
