"Broome midwifery group practice"

About: Broome Health Campus / Maternity/Midwifery

(as a service user),

I was cared for throughout pregnancy and birth by midwifery group practice and postnatal by midwives at the Broome hospital.

I believe the midwifery group practice is a great service and I felt supported throughout the pregnancy and birth. As well as after with home visits.

I think it would be great if home visits could be extended beyond 10 days after birth.

Heartfelt thanks and acknowledgement to midwives in mgp, based at the hospital as well as to the doctors at Broome hospital involved in my care.

While I was very happy with care received, I note, in my opinion, Broome hospital facilities are sorely in need of an upgrade.

Hello defendertr55,

Thank you so much for the taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience with our continuity of care model, MGP. I would also like to congratulate you on the birth of your baby. Having a new baby is an extremely busy, exciting and rewarding time.

The MGP model provides an extensive service spanning a number of weeks, mostly as you say prior to the birth. Having additional support after the 10 day post birth might be something we can incorporate into our program and I will discuss with our team of midwives.

I’m really happy to let you know that Broome Hospital has quite a plan for maintenance and as I’m writing this we have painters in our corridors, freshening up the walls and door frames. Our maternity unit is also in the midst of having upgrades particularly within our Birthing Suites. The plan is to have them totally remodelled. If you are interested in providing some feedback and suggestions for our Birth Suite upgrades I would be really happy to hear them as well as other ideas you might have.

Please contact me directly on my email sally.clark@health.wa.gov.au or call 0417496457.

Regards

Sally Clark
