My partner and I had taken a trip down to Collie to explore the town and surrounding areas. We were on our first day of holiday and we took a walk by the river. I slipped on a piece of very unassuming gravel and fell awkwardly. I knew straight away I had fractured ankle.
My partner was in a bit of a panic and thought I was being dramatic and tried to make me walk but there was no way. We were stuck by the river, luckily a large group of cyclists came by and some of the ladies in the group took charge.
An ambulance was called, the paramedics took great care of me, getting me sorted and giving me medication before they moved me. They loaded me on to the ambulance and we took the short drive to Collie Hospital and I was taken in to the ED.
The staff tended to me straight away and made me comfortable. I felt they were absolutely fantastic. Giving me regular pain medication and checking on me regularly. The nurses were so wonderful and I couldn’t of had a better experience. I am so grateful to all involved. They made a really horrible situation into something a bit more bearable. The care I received was second to none.
