Recently, I accidently cut my index finger quiet deeply with a very sharp kitchen knife. I went to a local medical centre and saw, I believe, a great doctor there who gave me a local and cleaned out the deep wound.
Upon examination, the doctor told me it was too deep and that I needed to go to the emergency department at a hospital. I recall the doctor wrote a referral letter recommending urgent treatment with Ix and Iv therapy being required before repair. I went to the closest hospital at the Prince Charles.
I felt I waited patiently for 3 hours and was finally called in to see a doctor. After having my blood pressure taken by a nurse, I was then asked to go back to the waiting room as a priority need my bed. No problem, however after waiting again, I witnessed 4 more people were called through before me that I think were not priorities. When I asked why I wasn't next, I feel I was met with rude behaviour and told I was back at the bottom of the list. I remember they said they had made a mistake! My letter stated urgent from another doctor and I believe they didn't bother to read it?
Anyway, so I had to go to a different hospital where I will be having surgery on my finger. If I lose my finger, I will sue TPCH in the tort of negligence.
