I am very happy with the birth experience at Armadale Health Services. The model of care and the staff involved in the midwifery team are the major contributors to my positive birth experience this time.
The model of care:
I was assigned to a midwifery team which provided me with the continuous care by the same midwife. The personal care gave me the confidence throughout the pregnancy. Also the flexibility of having home visits helped me to save traveling time which was important to a working mum.
In my experience, the model of care I was assigned to at Armadale Health services is much better than the one at another health service where I had my first birth two years ago. I believe the segregation of midwifery duties enable staff to focus on providing a high level of care to patients.
Staff involved in my care:
I have to acknowledge my midwife Claudia. In my experience, she was caring and committed. She was very thorough to follow through all my pregnancy related problems as well as requests which was greatly appreciated. Her knowledge and professionalism gave me confidence on my pregnancy.
I would also like to acknowledge my birth midwife Gail. Claudia was off on the day of the birth. Gail from the same midwifery team was the one looked after me and helped to deliver my baby. Her knowledge and calmness helped me to have a pleasant delivery at the hospital.
