"Attention and kindness in the ED"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had an issue with my eye sight and because it wasn’t the first time it has happened, I decided to go to emergency. I couldn’t believe the attention, kindness, the everything they have done to me, especially the doctors, nurses and even just the staff at the entrance taking the temperature, asking me in a very nice manner. I wasn’t scared at all because I had their attention, I was feeling comfortable. Everywhere I went.

They did every single test possible, blood test, blood pressure etc., I am so grateful. Then they gave me a letter to contact my GP. I don’t have words to express my gratitude. This is marvelous, every single one of the staff I saw had a smile on their face, they were kind and compassionate. I know one of the nurses said they work different shifts, supposed to work until 10pm at night. One of the nurses took my to get the taxi because it was late at night.

Dear authenticmt99,

Thank you so much for your uplifting feedback about the kind, caring person-centred care you received by the wonderful staff in the Emergency Department. It will be encouraging to both the staff and other patients needing to attend for eye concerns.

All the best

Kind regards

Jon
