"Double the trouble"

About: Perth Children's Hospital / Emergency Department St John Ambulance WA

(as a parent/guardian),

Our youngest son was brought into PCH ED after fracturing his lower leg playing Futsal. He was seen to immediately and provided with such care and compassion by everyone involved in his care from the SJA crew, the clerks, the PCA’s, the radiology team, what I believe was the most awesome group of nurses and doctors.

The dedication to their profession that we witnessed was second to none and I believe should be noted.

During our stay in ED, our oldest son took one look at his brother's leg and promptly passed out and hit his head quite badly as he fell to the floor.

I felt the staff who we dealt with in the ED all provided him with expert care and looked after him while we were trying to manage both boys. I can’t express how grateful we are for the whole team.

Dear orionhd94

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback of your family’s experience in our Emergency Department (ED) at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). I will ensure that your thoughtful comments are relayed to all staff involved, as I’m sure they will be delighted to hear your kind words.

It was really encouraging and inspiring to read how our ED staff went above and beyond to provide quality care and compassion for both of your son’s during what I imagine must have been a stressful time for you and your family.

Our staff are committed to demonstrating our organisation’s core values of Accountability, Collaboration, Compassion, Equity, Excellence and Respect and this is a great example of that.

Feedback such as yours is pivotal in encouraging and supporting our staff, so thank you for taking the time to let us know.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

Kind regards

Sue Baker

Nursing Co-Director – Medicine Division
