"Positive experience at FSH"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / General Surgery Department & Ward 7A & Ward 7B

(as a relative),

I just wanted to praise the general surgery team at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

My Mum was rushed into surgery unexpectedly and stayed around just over a week on Ward 7A.

The majority of nurses she had dealt with I believe should be commended on their bedside manner and care that was provided.

I felt the doctors visited on rounds regularly and made my mum a lot more comfortable in their treatment plan.

We even found the ward clerk and hospitality staff amazing.

Special mention to the seemingly amazing student, Adita, who was on the ward at the time. I believe she was kind and caring and took the time to get to know my mum and made her feel reassured and looked after! Based on our experience, we feel sure you will go far and become an amazing nurse!

Dear bluenx75,

Thank you for your Care Opinion post. I am sorry to hear that your Mum had unexpected surgery requiring a week’s admission to hospital, however was delighted to read of the care she received, as described by you.

I have shared your compliment with the Nurse Unit Manager of Ward 7A, and asked that she also share with her team, as well as the Manager of Hospitality to ensure he advises his team of your lovely compliment.

Thank you also for your special compliment towards Adita. We will be sure to let her know of the positive difference she made to your Mum, and we agree with you – she certainly has a bright future ahead of her.

I hope that your Mum is continuing to recover well.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty
