About: Busselton Health Campus

(as a carer),

Elderly grandparent admitted to hospital. Hadn't been in hospital for over 15 years. Confused and out of their comfort zone. Grandparent wanted me with them but wasn't permitted due to, I believe, government regulations. Been their carer and support person for over 3 years. 

I feel upset and detached from them ... I feel these government restrictions are not fair loved ones.

I don't understand how I could visit my partner at another hospital in Perth all day. Also, how I could visit them at a different regional hospital all day. 

How can the government have such different regulations between public hospitals.

I am sorry to hear that your grandparent has been unwell. It is never easy when a loved one is in hospital.

Visiting hours vary from hospital to hospital depending on the type of services they provide and the capacity of the site. At Busselton Hospital the routine visiting hours are 2 - 8 pm; however, this may be varied depending on individual circumstances.

We don't have enough information to give you a definite answer about visiting your grandparent. If you call Daniel Anderson (Coordinator of Nursing and Midwifery) on 97536372 he will be able to provide a more detailed response.

I hope you are well. I am just writing to provide an update in regard to visiting hours at Busselton Hospital.

Visiting hours do sometimes change due to various circumstances so I would encourage anyone travelling to visit friends and relatives to contact Busselton Hospital on 9753 6000 to ensure they receive the most up to date information. We will always try to accommodate as much as possible and will continue to take individual circumstances into consideration.
