My toddler broke their leg (tib & fib) in a trampoline accident. We attended Bridgetown hospital ED and the staff were incredible, especially Dr Mike, Michelle and Jackie. Dr Mike placed the leg in a back strap and I believe a referral was sent to the fracture clinic for further assessment as the bone is quite out of alignment.
After no word the following day and the day after that, I called the clinic and recall I was told they couldn’t find anything, I chased up the doctor and made sure the referral had been sent. On the third morning, I believe the referral letter was faxed by the doctor to the fracture clinic to follow up, I also called the clinic around midday to ask where we were at. I recall I was again told they couldn’t find anything, and was told yeah, it might be in the system but I probably won’t see until this afternoon at the earliest.
While I recognise it’s not an urgent situation, I am concerned about my toddler’s leg healing in a wonky position. I would like to be seen by the fracture clinic as referred to by a doctor.
