When I unexpectedly fell pregnant I knew straight away that I wanted to be part of MGP. The thought of having the same midwife throughout my whole gestation provided me with reassurance and comfort knowing I wouldn’t have to repeat myself and could build a relationship with a care provider within the public system. This was equally reassuring for my husband.
I immediately felt at ease with Lolita and she was the perfect balance to my personality. She was extremely reassuring along each step of the way and respectful of the birth I had hoped for. She accommodated appointment times, we never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see her, I believe my husband's questions were answered respectfully and promptly and just being able to text with a question at anytime was great!
Despite having a delayed induction and then birthing on a day when she was off work, I could not have felt more calm and at ease knowing that another MGP midwife would be coming in. We immediately clicked with Emma and I felt so empowered that we only had care from these amazing midwives throughout our pregnancy and birth. The after care at home was incredible where I felt both women were able to help me within my home environment and set up.
I couldn’t imagine now being under the care of a another service when I feel these amazing midwives are so passionate about what they do and based on my experience, put the mother and baby beyond anything else. I believe they deserve the world! I couldn’t recommend MGP higher to anyone after my experience with them and my wish is that this program continues to be supported with the resources it needs. I believe that anyone who is able to get into it will not be disappointed or wish for another experience!
