"Lack of care"

About: Kununurra Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I attended the ED at Kununurra District Hospital twice (first time around a couple of months ago, second time the other week) with a recurring skin condition. On the first attendance, I recall the Dr questioned me about illicit drug use which is simply not correct. I felt they did not have a close look at the lesions or address the extreme fatigue. I believe they then told me that blood tests at the Hospital were not reliable and to see my GP.

The visit recently, I was extremely upset with the lesions appearing again (they were erupting at the time). I believe the Dr told me that it was probably psychosomatic or that it could be Lymphoma, Leukemia and other nasty things. I recall they said they would not do a skin biopsy after midnight (I had just finished work) gave me a sedative and told me to see my GP.

I was lucky enough to get an appointment with my GP and as they had not seen the lesions when full blown before, they took photos, swabs, a biopsy and some blood tests. My GP prescribed antibiotics and cream which at the time of writing this, have already helped with healing and will review when results are in.
