I was lucky enough to be referred to the MGP service by a friend when I was 14 weeks pregnant. I am so grateful for the referral and being able to experience this service at KEMH.
From day one, I was allocated a midwife who would see me for all appointments and help me on my pregnancy journey. Based on my experience, I feel it is great to have one point of contact and the continuity of care, especially if it’s your first pregnancy as I believe you are not sure what to expect!
The midwives provided great guidance and support throughout the pregnancy and then postpartum with regular visits to check in once the baby is born. Thankfully, my pregnancy was relatively straightforward and we had a beautiful healthy baby girl at around 40 weeks- thanks to the great work of our MGP4 midwife and student midwife who also joined us on our journey.
